Hands-on with pupil diameter data at CLW 2016

The last hour of CLW 2016 will be devoted to hands-on experiences. In addition to a demo by Ergoneers, participants will review pupil diameter data from the work of Pfleging et al., presented at CHI 2016.

In this paper, the authors explored how pupil diameter changes due to changes in (a) cognitive load, and (b) visual target luminance. CLW participants will review pupil diameter data for one of the of the 20 participants. The data can be found in Dropbox – if you plan to attend CLW 2016, please take a moment to download this data to your computer. At the workshop participants can use spreadsheet software to plot pupil diameter changes over time, find average pupil diameter values for different experimental conditions, and review how sampling rate changes over the course of the experiment.
